The Garage Door Drive from Würth Solar consists of several perfectly matched components:
The powerful GeneCIS solar module "made in Germany" converts sunlight into electrical energy. Besides its aesthetics, the module excels by virtue of its very high energy yields. The GeneCIS module can be mounted on the garage wall, but is also suitable for installation on a flat roof.
Two long-life battery units supply the system with electricity. The energy generated from the GeneCIS module is stored and available for operating the solar Garage Door Drive at any time. If the sun’s power happens to be insufficient to supply enough energy, you can remove the battery unit and charge it from a 220 V outlet. The remaining second battery ensures continued operation of the drive.
The intelligent control unit ensures that the garage door opens and closes reliably. Safety is paramount here: The dependable automatic shutdown immediately stops the door closing in case of hindrances and opens it again. The display with visual warnings is functional and easy to operate. Energy-saving LEDs mounted on the front illuminate the garage when you are driving in and out.
The unique and patented drive system is designed for operation in the 24 V low voltage range. In contrast to other commercially available drives, in this design the motor carriage slides along the guide rail on a stationary chain. This means that the chain does not have to be retightened and hence there is less strain on the gearbox and the motor. The regulated soft run function also means the garage door is opened and closed smoothly and quietly. Besides durability and dependability, the drive also takes safety aspects into due consideration. In case of system failure, the emergency release mechanism allows the door to be opened and locked.
Another bonus: Your garage is significantly better protected against intrusion: Thanks to the self-locking motor, the garage door is protected against forced opening; an additional mechanical lock is not required.
You can operate the garage door conveniently using a handheld transmitter equipped with the latest technology. Use of the 868.8 MHz radio frequency guarantees reliable signal transmission. In addition, the radio signal is tap-proof on account of the ‘Somloq Rolling Code’ system and hence is protected against intrusion. The handheld transmitter can be programmed in a user-friendly way and can also be used to control many other electrical devices in and around the home.
