This is what you should know...

As of July 1, 2006, products may only be marketed in Europe if they meet RoHS guideline. This much is certain. But at the same time it is beginning to make many electronics manufacturers and processors feel worried. A lot of questions are being raised – and we would like to provide you with a few answers that are very simple and easy to understand.

Is "lead-free" really free of lead?
Some solders and circuit board surfaces that have been declared lead-free have a small proportion of 0.1% lead by weight – not a problem!

An orchestra is only as good as the performance of its individual players

A  truism – but what does this have to do with the lead-free regulation? Just this: The key to the quality of your mounted assembly – and this applies to both leadfree and lead-containing systems – is the interaction of its individual components: circuit board surface, solder, component and soldering process.
